Does anyone know if this was Fielder’s idea or one of his teammates? Baseball doesn’t have much room for uniqueness, but this home plate celebration is one of the best I’ve seen.

I think it’s completely classless. This isn’t the NFL. MLB is all about tradition, and this flies squarely in the face of said tradition. It’s poor sportsmanship, and has no place in the game. If necessary MLB should adopt rules to penalize such actions in the future.

i am a giants fan and saw this happen. as you can guess, giants fans, players and broadcast team were pretty mad. from what was said by the broadcasters, the idea came from Craig Counsil (sic), it is pretty disrespectful to the other team, but i could see where brewers fans would think it is funny or neat. but if another team did something like that to the brewers, they would probably be fighting.
