You have to see this to believe it! In this Korean Baseball video, the pitcher hits the batter, but it’s what happens next that will surprise you!
This is the strangest thing I have ever seen in a baseball game.

they’re chicken fighting. it’s actually a common game that’s played among the youngsters. i guess it’s their way of fighting it out without fighting it out. hahha.

I think is a comedy sketch, because there’s no croud. But at least is funny as hell. LOL

WTF?

seriously…this is is years old and would have taken about 5 seconds to google and find the explanation that this is a charity game with professional comedians in Korea that was shot some time ago. The fact that this is so old and its the “strangest thing you’ve ever seen” shows just how relevant this site is.

This was a joke. You can see them all laughing.

WTF? Does anyone have an explanation of this……tradition?

If only all disputes were resolved like this….there would be no war

You do realize this is 1) very very old and 2) a sketch from a Korean comedy show, right?

I hope you realize this isn’t a REAL baseball game? It’s just a prank they pulled on a TV show to portray the ridiculousness of baseball brawls. Hence the empty stands, the audience laughter, and the cheering at the end.
Yea, hope you incorporate this into your misleading title.

First this video is old, and it is actually a staged game between comedians and other tv celebs for charity in Korea.

They’re just messing around, probably to get on youtube. The pitcher lobs it in, the guy obviously fakes that it hurt, then they are all cracking up when they start holding their feet. It’s genius really.

Matt Cutts posted this link on his twitter, this is hilarious!

You sure this wasn’t some staged comedy. The Asians aren’t normal like we are and what they think is funny is different.

Yawn. It was a softball throw. Choreographed in hopes that idiots will feature it on their website.
At least they know their audience.

I believe that means “U# Y&$RS MAJORLY” in Korean.

Would you say: …and then a brou-hop-hop ensued?

Hilarious!

Speaking as a 2nd generation Korean that finds many of his cultural quirks hilarious I can try to explain this, though, while doing so, I will need to take short breaks in order to take heaving breaths through my bouts of laughter:
The knee holding, one legged hopping thing that you see here is culturally pervasive children’s game. Think of it as a way of “dueling it out” without anyone getting hurt. The first person to fall looses. Its like a 1 v 1 chicken fight.
So when the baseball player who was hit took up his leg it was immediately recognized by the faulty pitcher that he was intending to “play fight” to resolve the issue and was also immediately taken up as a serious faced joke by the remainder of the teams to themselves and the audience.
In an american context it would be the same as if the batter ran up to the pitcher with a foam bat or pillow and the pitcher grabbed one and they started going at it soon to be joined by their team mates. Funny. But to some other Non-western cultures would look absolutely ridiculous.

I think this is one of those fantastic Japanese/Korean TV game shows.
