The Jays are very openly in rebuilding mode, making absolutely clear that there’s nothing to expect from them for the next 1.5-3 years. And they’re still ahead of the Royals.

True, but it’s about the key performers: Burnett 33, A-Rod 34, Jeter 35, Posada 38, Rivera 40.

Don’t get me wrong; the rivalry is one of the best in sports and makes it all worth watching. While I root for the Sox, I respect the Yankees because I’d be a fool not to.

Honestly, this article reeks of ignorance. Not saying the rankings are THAT horrible, but you can’t write a segment on the Blue Jays without mentoning their best player, Adam Lind. You can’t write a segment on the Giants without mentioning their best player, Pablo Sandoval. You can’t say the only person worth talking about in the Pirates outfield is Garret Jones when they have some guy named Andrew McCutchen (maybe you’ve never heard of him). You can’t say the only productive hitters in the Reds lineup are Votto and Rolen when Brandon Phillips is better than Rolen. You should also mention that the Mets probably won’t get Beltran back until June. Werth is probably more of a “heavy” hitter than Jimmy Rollins and his sub .300 OBP. The Marlins really don’t lack in HR power at all with Ramirez, Uggla, Cantu, Ross, etc. And Martinez isn’t the “best catcher not named Mauer”. It’s at best debatable between him and McCann.

Again, the rankings aren’t horrible. But the write-ups are.

The Giants have significantly improved their offense, and when Freddy Sanchez is healthy he’s a batting title contender. And they have arguably the best four man rotation in baseball. We’re talking about a top 15 team here, with world series potential. If they even partially improve their offense this year you’ll struggle to find a team that can beat them in a 7 game series.
