Little Girls Don’t Like the Cubs Either (Video)
Christmas is just a wonderful time of year isn’t it? Everyone gets into the spirit of giving….except children. They are in the spirit of receiving for the most part. And every parent knows that at some point or another you have had to face the wrath of a child scorned by a present they just did not want.
Usually socks, underwear, or in this case a Chicago Cubs ‘pillow pet’ will do the trick. Especially when the young lady in question is a 6-year old White Sox fan named Mya….
Barry Bonds to be Sentenced Today
Barry Bonds today is going to get sentenced for his conviction of obstruction of justice during his testimony related to BALCO. Federal Probation officers have told the court they believe Bonds should only be getting house arrest and community service. However Bonds fate and the possibility of up to 21 months in prison, lies in the hands of Judge Susan Illston:
Bonds, 47, was convicted in April of obstructing a grand jury’s doping investigation with an evasive answer during a December 2003 court appearance. He is the last of the defendants directly connected to the investigation of the Bay Area Laboratory Co-Operative to be sentenced.
The analysts, Bonds’ lawyers and the probation department all cite the sentences given to other sports figures convicted of similar charges stemming from the investigation as more appropriate guidelines to follow.
Prosecutors don’t agree however and are asking for a prison sentence of 15 months, telling the court that Bonds has never fully accepted responsibility for his actions.
“Bonds’ pervasive efforts to testify falsely, to mislead the grand jury, to dodge questions, and to simply refuse to answer questions in the grand jury makes his conduct worthy of a significant jail sentence,” prosecutors wrote to the court last week.

Top 6 MLB ‘Utility’ Players of All-Time
A utility player in Major League Baseball can best be loosely described as a “jack of all trades.” Often called upon to play up to five or six different positions in a single season, utility players can be invaluable to their teams. Utility players are also a dream for general managers, who can rely on a utility guy to take a spot on a roster that would ordinarily have to be filled by two or three separate players.

Derek Jeter Gives Girls Signed Memorabilia Morning After One Night Stands
New York Yankees star player Derek Jeter has spent years trying to keep a ‘golden boy’ image in order to cash in on marketing opportunities away from the field. He also has quite the bachelor pad at Trump World Towers in NYC, paid for in part through his marketing endeavors. You probably wouldn’t be shocked to hear that since breaking up with ex-girlfriend Minka Kelly, Jeter has brought more than a few girls back to his pad for a good time. But what may surprise you is what he gives the girls the next morning as a send off or ‘parting gift’…
“Derek has girls stay with him at his apartment in New York, and then he gets them a car to take them home the next day. Waiting in his car is a gift basket containing signed Jeter memorabilia, usually a signed baseball,” the friend dished.
BOOBY PRIZES:Yankee batsman Derek Jeter, playing the field after a breakup, sends off his one-night lovers with a ride home — and a basket of signed memorabilia.“This summer, he ended up hooking up with a girl who he had hooked up with once before, but Jeter seemed to have forgotten about the first time and gave her the same identical parting gift, a gift basket with a signed Derek Jeter baseball,” the pal said.
“He basically gave her the same gift twice because he’d forgotten hooking up with her the first time!”
Jeter, who fiercely guards his privacy to protect his All-American image and multimillion-dollar marketability, split with the gorgeous actress Kelly this summer and has been playing the field ever since. (Source NY Post)
Is it just me or is the giving a girl you just had a one night stand with a signed baseball that she can hock on eBay for thousands of dollars, just seem a bit too close to paying a girl for sex?
Just sayin’. Stay classy Jeters, stay classy bro.
Drunk Guy Pees on David Price’s Car
Tampa Rays pitcher David Price had a shocking surprise upon leaving a charity event late Friday night. He was stunned to find a drunk man peeing on the door of his car when he returned to his parking spot. Price yelled at the guy (and rightfully so), and the guy decided it was a good idea to take a swing at the 6’6″, 250lb price.
After filling glasses as a guest bartender for manager Joe Maddon’s charity event at Tampa’s 717 South restaurant Friday, Rays pitcher David Price walked out to find a man relieving himself on the door of his car.
The man apparently didn’t take kindly to being interrupted — he pushed Price and took a swing at him, but Price said he wisely avoided confrontation, joking he was too quick.
“I was,” Price said, “relieved with how it turned out.” (Source TampaBay.com)
Good news for Rays fans is that Price did the right thing and avoiding striking the man after the incident almost came to blows. Even though I don’t think anyone could really blame him for acting in self-defense since the guy not only pee’d on his ride by took multiple swings at him.
Odd news of the weekend for sure.

Braves Reliever Gets Served…By Nickelback?
Atlanta Braves reliever Peter Moylan is known to be outspoken from time to time. Being criticized has never been that new to him, especially regarding his tattoo’s. But after Moylan called out Nickelback on twitter, he probably didn’t expect them to snap back. And make him look about an inch high.
I’m no Nickelback fan, but damn Chad, that was pure gold:
Sports Illustrated’s Jon Heyman Doesn’t Believe Pujols is 31 Years Old
Dominican born player José Alberto Pujols Alcántara, as we lovingly know as just Albert Pujols, claims to be 31 years old. Does he look 31? That is up for debate. Personally, my guess is about 35 or so.
Problem for Pujols is that he’s in the middle of trying to negotiate a new contract with the Cardinals. They are offering big bucks on a long term deal. At least one person thinks he should jump on it. That’s Sports Illustrated’s Jon Heyman who called out Pujols age claim on twitter today:
I tend to agree, but regardless, at the end of 2011 Pujols led all active players in batting average (.328), slugging percentage (.617), and OPS (1.037), and ranked 37th in number of home runs in Major League Baseball history. He was selected by ESPN.com as the greatest player of the decade from 2000–09. Don’t you think that deserves a decent contract? Let’s play a little game of guess Pujols age from this pic below:
