A lot of people really don’t like Papa Grande, which is Detroit Tigers closer Jose Valverde. Valverde won’t be getting a lot of love after what he did Sunday night in the Tigers’ 7-6 victory the Cincinnati Reds.
Apparently, Valverde tried going Gaylord Perry on the Reds, which appeared as it looks he did a spitball. The video above was captured by a fan who has proof of Valverde doing it in slow-motion.
The spitball is illegal today and goes against the MLB’s rulebooks. We’ll see soon if he gets caught or not.
