It appears as if Roger Clemens is getting closer to making a return to the major leagues with the Houston Astros. Astros GM Jeff Luhnow told CBS Sports that the team is going to have a scout watch Clemens pitch with the independent Sugar Land Skeeters in a game on September 7. If all goes right, then Clemens will probably pitch for the Astros on a September 12, a home game against the Chicago Cubs.
The 50-year-old Clemens has already pitched in a game with the Skeeters back on August 25 – he went 3 1/3 innings and didn’t give up a run in the process.
