Clayton Kershaw, the Dodgers’ ace, might not make the start for the team’s opening day game next season. After being scratched from yesterday’s start, he will be examined by a specialist tomorrow to see if he needs surgery on his right hip. If Kershaw undergoes the surgery, it’s possible he won’t pitch again until May.
The 24-year-old has started the season opener for the Dodgers for the past two seasons.
