Jason Giambi has returned to the Rockies after missing 35 games because of a “viral syndrome.” He said he has felt really good after making his return, so good that he wants to continue playing baseball through 2013, the year when he’ll be 42 years old. From the Denver Post:
“I would to love to play if I can get a job,” Giambi said Saturday. “That’s kind of up to everybody else. If I have an opportunity, I would love to play.”
“I feel like I can still play this game,” he said. “I swung the bat well when I was down there, and I felt like I was hitting well up here before I got sick.”
Giambi has hit .241 with one home run and eight RBIs in just 47 games with the Rockies this season.
