Earlier today, the Blue Jays decided to suspend Yunel Escobar for three games because of his homophobic eye black. In addition, Escobar will also participate in a sensitivity training program.
Here’s what Escobar had to say (through coach Luis Rivera):
“I agree with the suspension. I don’t have any problem with that. I’m embarrassed. I’m sorry for my actions of the other day. I don’t have anything against homosexuals. I have friends who are gay. The person who decorates my house is gay, the person who cuts my hair is gay.”
