According to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports, Bobby Valentine will be fired by the Red Sox soon. This is probably the least surprising news ever, considering the fact that this was probably one of the worst one-year coaching failures I’ve seen.
[UPDATE: Earlier today, Valentine and the Red Sox parted ways. See ya later, Bobby. I'm sure Sox fans won't miss you.]
The Sox went from having a very good most of the season last year, to missing the playoffs on the final day, to firing Terry Francona and hiring Valentine, and to having a disaster of a season by being in the basement of the AL East. Very out of character for the Sox to have such a terrible season, and Bobby V is partly, not wholly, at the source of it.
Could this really mean that Francona might return to being the Red Sox manager?
