While MLB commish Bud Selig was in the middle of a Q&A session last week, he noticed on his TV that cameras were capturing the San Francisco Giants’ clubhouse celebration. They had just beaten the Cincinnati Reds and champagne was being sprayed all over the place. Selig doesn’t seem to like that much.
Here’s what he had to say:
“This is something I am not happy about: spraying champagne all over. I’m not a fan of that.”
When he was reminded that he’s the commissioner and that he has the power to put a stop to this, Selig said:
“It is something I have talked to the clubs about and will continue to talk to the clubs about. You want to have great celebrations, fine. But spraying each other with champagne is not that.”
Come on, Bud, don’t be a party pooper. Everyone seems to enjoy it but you. Maybe you’re the one that needs a drink.
