Torii Hunter, a free agent, wants to play on a team that will get him to the World Series, but it seems as if he has quite a bit of options to choose from. Earlier this month, it was reported that the Red Sox, Yankees, Phillies, Dodgers, and even the Braves want Hunter, but according to Danny Knobler of CBS Sports, the Tigers and Rangers are apparently also interested in getting him a World Series ring.
The Tigers and the Rangers seem like good fits – the Tigers made it to the World Series just this past season and the Rangers made it the previous two, but the Yankees are obviously always capable of winning a World Series, so if I was Hunter, I would not have an idea of where to sign. However, he said that he’ll sign somewhere soon.
By the way, Hunter will not be returning to the Angels – they declined to make an offer to him.
