According to Ken Rosenthal, major-league sources have said that Rangers infielder Michael Young has been traded to the Phillies. The Rangers will receive right-handed pitchers Josh Lindblom and Lisalverto Bonilla.
Young had a five-year, $80 million deal with the Rangers through the 2013 season. In addition, he had a full no-trade clause, which he had to waive for the trade to happen. Rosenthal also says that the Rangers are “picking up approximately $10 million of Young’s remaining salary and the Phillies are giving him a no-trade clause.”
It’s likely that the 36-year-old Young will be the Phillies’ third baseman.
