Dock Ellis was an All Star, a champion, and threw a drug induced no-no.

Once upon a time there was a pitcher by the name of Dock Ellis. He pitched for a half dozen teams including winning 19 games for the World Champion Pittsburgh Pirates in 1971. Ellis also started for the National League in the All Star game that season, but will always be remembered for one thing.

Ellis had an eventful playing career. He was the pitcher that gave up Reggie Jackson’s famous All Star blast that is still going. He also beaned Mr. October in obvious retaliation, was maced by a Cincinnati security guard, and beaned nearly every single Cincinnati Red in a 1974 game. Ellis sadly died in late 2008.

Randy Moss at the Plate?

Ever since Randy Moss came into the NFL in 1998 the viewing public has been enamored with his highlight reel catches and supreme athleticism, but not many people know about his baseball background. Randy played CF in high school and lettered in high school and fee free to take a look at his swing nowadays.

The video below is taken from Heath Evans’ charity softball game and Randy looks good at the plate although the ball does not travel very far in this AB. He looks like Dexter Fowler at the dish, but look at that speed. OMG!

Haha, it looks like Randy still plays when he wants to play and is mentioned in possible trade rumors to the Cowboys. Let us know what you think of Randy playing softball.

I have never even heard of there beeing so many Bees at a single major league baseball game. You would think that someone would be able to just spray something in order to get rid of them all!

Everyone knows that if you go to a ballgame and have seats in any section where you have a shot at catching a foul ball, you bring your glove, and pray a ball comes close so you can catch a great souvenir. Well at a Philadelphia Phillies game this week, that goal was realized by a Phillies fan, only to have his souvenir tossed back onto the field by his 3-year old daughter. I guess you can’t blame the young girl though, she was just trying to imitate the actions of the players on the field, right? The video is good for a laugh either way:
